The sun came out at Copalis Crossing
During a typical Memorial Day weekend, no matter where you are in the country, rain will find you and ruin your plans. We owned a sport shop along the Mississippi River, in Stoddard, WI several years ago. Of course, the three big holidays of the summer, we hoped for sunshine. Sunshine brought fishermen and boaters to the river, and that was good for business. We live in Western Washington these days, the forecast for Memorial Day this weekend, was rain.
A few miles from Ocean Shores, at Copalis Crossing, Hogan’s Corner, a vast display of wood carvings attracts the attention of all who happen to pass by. Native Beach Accessories held an auction on Memorial Day. I can only imagine how happy Tony Robinson was when the sun appeared. We drove over to check it out.
We were amazed at the handy work of the artists that participated in the carving. Chainsaws were buzzing, sawdust floated throughout the area, and people wandered around to take it all in. We didn’t stay for the auction, but a lot of people did. Some were interested in small pieces, others hoped to haul a huge piece home, maybe for their business, or for their front yard. I was happy the weather cooperated. We drive by this awesome display often. Every time, we notice several new additions. A great business for the community and for Mr. Robinson.
